I recently visited Silk Road Choyhona in Gaithersburg, MD, and was blown away by the authentic Uzbek flavors and warm hospitality. We started with Dolma and Samsa as appetizers—both were bursting with flavor and set the tone for an incredible meal. For the mains, we enjoyed Chuchvara in Broth, Plov, and Manti. Each dish showcased the rich traditions of Uzbek cuisine, with bold spices, tender meats, and perfectly balanced textures. The Homemade Fruit Punch was a refreshing complement to the meal, tying everything together beautifully. The atmosphere was cozy, the service attentive, and the food unforgettable. If you're looking to explore Uzbek cuisine, Silk Road Choyhona is a must-visit. I’ll definitely be back to try more from their menu!
Real Uzbek authentic food and fabulous atmosphere. Silk Road restaurant offered us the best food I have ever had in the DMV area. The new design of the restaurant makes you immerse yourself in the Uzbek culture and life. The food is amazing, the atmosphere is authentic. Highly recommend for those who want to try real Uzbek food and get acquainted with the Uzbek culture in Maryland.
Our first (but not last) time at Silk Road was excellent. The food was delicious and fresh. Our only regret is not saving room for dessert. :) We can’t wait to go back!
First time trying Uzbeki cuisine and I was pleasantly surprised. Presentation of the food was beautiful. The taste of the food was amazing! Flavors are really phenomenal. For dessert we had some honey cake with Turkish coffee and it was the perfect end to dinner. I will definitely be back and I highly recommend this restaurant.
This place is such an amazing gem! The interior is so pretty. The food is so incredible! This will definitely be our regular spot!
Good place for Mediterranean food. We ordered the kebabs and they were very delicious. All other food entries were great as well. They have a good lounge sitting, but it requires reservations prior to a day. Overall, the food, service, and ambiance are great.
I was hesitant to try Silk Road Choyhona at first because the pictures online didn’t do it justice. From the photos, I wasn’t sure what to expect—it didn’t look like anything special. But I’m so glad I gave it a chance, because the moment I walked in, I was pleasantly surprised. The atmosphere is cozy, cute, and casual, with a warm and welcoming vibe that immediately made me feel comfortable. It’s the kind of place that feels like a hidden gem—unassuming from the outside, but full of charm once you're inside. The food was the real star. Every dish we tried was flavorful, fresh, and clearly made with care. The spices and seasoning stood out in the best way, offering a taste of Central Asian cuisine that felt both authentic and delicious. It was different from the usual restaurant experience—in a very good way. The staff were also excellent—friendly, helpful, and genuinely attentive. They took the time to explain the menu and made sure we had everything we needed throughout the meal. Overall, Silk Road Choyhona far exceeded my expectations. It’s a great spot for a casual dinner with friends or family, and I’ll definitely be returning. Don’t let the photos fool you—this place is worth checking out.
GREAT dine in experience sitting at the traditional low tables with cushions (tapchan I think is what they're called). Sergiy was our server and provided excellent friendly service and checked in on us just the right amount. The food came out at a good pace and everything was delicious! I usually order take out from here and stuck with some of my tried and true staples like the Plov and my favorite, the pumpkin Manti. We also got the kebab combo platter with potato and mushroom which was beautifully presented and really tasty. The house made fruit juice was refreshing and the fresh baked bread was so good I had to restrain myself from filling up on it! A great spot for authentic Uzbek food for any meal but also a unique dining experience to impress your guests!
